I have it on pretty good authority that everyone who likes having sex with humans likes female boobs. And plump round asses. It’s some deeply ingrained evolutionary stuff.

Doesn’t mean a gay guy is gonna go straight because of some nice tits, but he can appreciate them erotically.

Yeah nah gay guy here to ruin your theory - I’ve got absolutely no attraction to boobs and/or feminine asses. I’m sure some tendency towards bisexuality is more common than strict homo/hetero-sexuality, but I strongly doubt I’m alone in this either.

Also a gay man, and yeah. No sexual attraction to boobs at all. I’ve played with straight girl boobs while drunk, because straight girls do that when you’re in your teens and early 20s, but it’s always been sort of a drunk funning around thing, not a sex thing. I have the exact same amount of sexual attraction to girl boobs as I have to, like, knees. They’re a body part, that’s about it.

As a straight man, I can appreciate that another man is handsome while feeling no sexual attraction towards him. I would assume you can feel the same way towards a woman, appreciate the beauty without the desire to screw them.

As for what OP asks, I don’t think that is at the same level of “attraction”.

This is interesting. Bear with me, it’s 2am, I’m overtired, and this is purely for discussion. Also, this caught the attention of my adhd, so if I try to ignore it I probably won’t sleep at all. Anyway, I wonder if it has some basis on how sexuality is represented in the brain in gay men vs gay women. I’m reasoning this because, well…

          1. Lesbians: Like the boobas and butts of other women. According to reports women also tend to swing more loosely with their sexuality.

          2. Straight Women: Even women who identify as straight can be attracted to other women sexually, just not intimately. They like to also look.

          3. Gay Men: From my experience in life, on Reddit, and here on Lemmy, gay men tend to lack similar appreciation for women. Predictably they find other men to be all the rage. There seems to be a more stringent sexual and intimate preference.

          4. Straight Men: Yet while straight men like the ladies, we also now know a larger population of males tend toward bisexual curiosity. We are also aware of the sexual repression still prevalent, though arguably less so than ever before.

So what am I getting to? Well, I believe that either gender has a genetic disposition towards the feminine form. On the same tree, both genders tend to enjoy the male form on the same level less. Could this be linked to some ancient survival mechanism a la reproduction? Why does it appear that the woman body is more popular with three of the four major categories and yet to gay men more often completely unremarkable?

I dunno, my brain is yelling at me to sleep. Could anyone add anything? I’m mostly curious and promise I’m not attempting to head in some unknown terrible conclusion someone is bound to try and rope it all into.

You can tell I’ve had some interesting responses from people on some subjects.

I believe that either gender has a genetic disposition towards the feminine form.

I am not sure you can conclude that. Environmental factors likely play a large role here as well as genetic factors. I feel we tend to idolize and sexualize the female form far more then the male form these days. But if you look back and different cultures that did the same with the male form I suspect you would see an opposite trend to both genders preferring the male form more often.

Oh yes absolutely, I agree that environmental factors play a role, and that role varies in intensity and direction. Looking at what limited historical evidence I know offhand it appears that the female form has been more consistently sought after. Of course, this could be due to the fact that my historical context are the Romans, Greek, parts of indo-asia, and a sprinkling of Japan. So a rather wide swath of places like South America and Africa aren’t really known.

I don’t have enough knowledge. It just seems from what I do know that there is some significant focus on this, or maybe just less focus on males in general.

It’s because in the majority of cultures (and hegemonic cultures today) have had men at the top of their hierarchical structure and there are more straight men. The male gaze makes women into sexual objects, culturally we see women as inherently sexy as a result.

This is the same when you see little kids given dolls with different skin colors and told to pick the “good” and “bad” doll. Even children of color pick the white doll for the good one. Because “normal” or “default” means good. In the case of sexual attraction in a straight male dominated society, that means sexual attraction to women.

Not sure I can articulate the difference well, but there’s def types of asses you find more commonly on women vs men and vice versa. That’s my attempt to group the types you find more commonly on women together - not very precise, but if you do a couple image searches for comparison it’ll hopefully be clearer.

Nobody? That was a general statement, sorry if that was unclear formulated. I just see many people that first set a label for themselves and then try to fit into it, instead of just doing what ever they want and just use them as a short hand to explain themselves.

Look, at some point, you gotta stop prefacing everything you say with a disclaimer which appeals to .01% of the population.

If you’re a biological female attracted to men and feminine breasts, the common shorthand is “bisexual”.

I only like some. I dislike big breasts and think they look pretty disgusting. Smaller ones are much sexier.

I also only like breasts on women that are like 30 year old and less. I don’t get attracted to older ones and think it’s slightly disgusting even. And I’m much older than 30 myself.

I’m sure this is also not politically correct but that’s how it is. I don’t choose what I get attracted to.

Oh, you see, that’s not the same thing. Most gay men are absolutely fucking terrified of vaginas, for example. A total mystery that, for most of us, we have only ever encountered in a biology class. (On the other hand, we probably know more about them from that biology class and our lady friends than most unmarried straight men). However, even as a straight guy, you could admit that dicks are fun to play with, even if it’s just your own. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ya see, as best, as I can figure, the boob thing for gay guys is that, it’s a novelty because we don’t have them (usually), they’re actually kind of neat and fun, and if you push them together, they look like a butt, which is something we actually do like.

I would not say most gay men are terrified of vaginas. I’m not sexually attracted to vagina, but I’m also not scared of it, anymore than I’m scared of wrists, another thing I’m not attracted to, or tattoos, another thing I don’t personally have. They’re just a thing that’s there, and that I’m not into. Same for most gay men I’ve met.
