    Gmail rival

It’s called an email provider and there are already a million of those. Don’t act like it’s some fancy high tech stuff

Damn. Imagine an email service that makes actual emails impossible to find, but constantly bombards your inbox with the most hellish cringest spam imaginable.

He’s reinventing Yahoo Mail. Real “Return To Tradition” hours. It’ll be like the 90s all over again.

Ah good, a mail service that scans your mailbox, determines if you’re left leaning, and then doxes you to the Proud Boys/3 Percenters/Oath Keepers/etc. Fantastic idea.

In 2013 he said that his cars would be self-driving by 2016 and has been promising that it would finally happen “by the end of this year” or “next year” ever since.

Other than paying much smarter, more skilled, and generally better people to do stuff and take credit for their work, throwing out random shit and demanding that others make it happen is literally ALL he’s done professionally since he made a Space Invaders clone as a kid. That and self-promoting.

He’s the richest man in the world and also the perfect example of the fact that the ultra-rich don’t become ultra-rich because they’re smarter or more talented or because they just work really hard.

Being rich already; ruthless opportunism at the cost of the health, happiness, and often lives of others; and shamelessly relentless propaganda is how billionaires are made.

        That’s hilarious and depressing.

The author of that page gave up in May 2021. I’m guessing that they sold their Tesla shares in utter disgust at that point.

Pretty sure that it still hasn’t happened today in Jan 2025, despite people making adult movies in the front of a “self-driving” Tesla. Something that seems like a life limiting choice if ever I saw one.

Email would be monumentally easy to offer. Setting up an email servers is easy AF, and if he wanted to, he could chuck any number of free web clients on it.

My guess is that this is a fast and easy way to feed his LLMs with more content.

There is zero chance that people will create filters that automatically delete anything with an xmail domain. Nope. No chance whatsoever. Anything coming from someone who uses xmail has to be worth reading, right?

Though still active, my Gmail now forwards everything to Proton Mail. It’s not as nice, though very serviceable for the not-particularly-high volume of e-mail I receive.

I appreciate that that wording must have been annoying (if not painful) to write for a trans person but she still did it because it was too good an opportunity to pass.

Fuck big email providers. All my homies use proton mail 😎

We always have to remember that e-mail is a decentralized protocol. If so many people use one e-mail provider then e-mail will be less of a decentralized protocol and can be monopolised. I will hate it.

Or Tuta (formerly Tutanota) with my own domain. It’s neither that hard to set up nor expensive.

I’m not so sure. I reckon he’s using a Trump-style strategy of just constantly doing and saying outrageous rubbish in order to dominate people’s attention. i.e. He just wants people to be paying attention to him, and thinking about him, and writing about him, regardless of whether it is positive or negative.

I believe he is doing this as a deliberate strategy, knowing that even if a lot of the reaction is negative, it still means that he has the attention of the world - and that people will listen to what he is saying.

Also his ultimate goal is to become a trillionaire. Because he thinks we live in a simulation and that he is the main player and he wants to beat the high score. And he found out the best way to achieve that is to create a cult around him. Tesla stock only soared to those heights because of him as a person not because the company’s performance. People are buying Tesla stock like it’s a tithe to the Elon church. And to keep people in the cult of Elon he sows division. The more negativity surrounding him from outsiders the more his cult followers will dig their heels into the ground and buy more of his stocks and products.

I’m a fan of ketamine, but some people are just too stupid to handle it. Like no, dude, you didn’t discover the secrets of the universe, you took a drug and your brain dissociated from your body for a bit. Just enjoy it for what it is and move on.

Yeah, I think the point where he will be trying to convert MAGA to his cult is when Trump will become his enemy. So far both think they can manipulate the other to help themselves, because they both suffer from the same narcissistic delusions and are sociopaths.

Yeah he switched to pandering to MAGAts and the manosphere because he saw how easy it is to manipulate these idiots. Like ten years ago he tried to paint himself as a environmentalist but he quickly found out that people who care about the environment aren’t gullible

I never thought of this as that. Now that I think about it, in the early internet days there were many people who became successful and famous solely because they produced content which people reacted very negatively. So it goes back to the old saying no advertisement is bad
