I notice the same thing. I think it’s because they are busy moving it from a distant warehouse to one closer to you, because you can’t possibly keep all of the same crap in all of the warehouses. So it’s being transported, but not “shipped”, allowing them to take longer.
This is the main reason I cancelled Prime. They started advertising “More than just free shipping”, and I realized that I only used it for free shipping, and as Prime got more and more expensive I wasn’t getting any value from it.
Now I just put stuff in my cart until I have $35 worth of stuff, and get free shipping anyway. It’s not that much slower. An extra day or two usually, and it doesn’t bother me one bit. I can wait a little while for my $10 guitar strap and it’s not the end of the world.
Oh no, I fell for it
Correct me if I’m wrong, but there are 2 hydrogen atoms in a molecule of water. Do you mean in a drop of water?
I was lucky, too. I’ve waited so long to see these and it never worked out until now.
It’s sarcasm because nobody should be held liable.
Seems like the electric companies should also pay a hefty fine, as they provided the needed infrastructure to enable the piracy. /s
Block lemmy.ml and hexbear to start. I find their users to be quite toxic.
You mean like the one linked here? Or something with a specific URL like “killedbymozilla.com”?
Aha. Well, I guess I’m not the target audience because I can’t be bothered to go through the installation steps. It’s not in the LMDE repository, but I wish it were!
Hmm, that’s not working for me. You mean use those as options? ‘ls -eza’?
I learned you can edit .bashrc
(in your home dir) and update the alias for ls to include what I like. It has saved me lots of keystrokes. Mine is ls -lha
in addition to whatever color coding stuff is there by default.
Black Olives (or green, either way).
I use them when warranted, which isn’t very often. I don’t think the avoidance of using swears is a religious thing, it’s a language/cultural thing. For some reason they’re just deemed “bad words”. They exist in almost all languages and cultures as far as I know.
A good friend of mine swears a lot unless kids are around. I don’t mind it, but he’s sort of “that guy” because of it. If he was someone I just met, I’d think he’s just a bit lowbrow and that’s about it. I wouldn’t think poorly of anyone because of it as long as their attitude is good.
People look at expensive houses more often than not. You can definitely send someone, though, like if you’re looking at a house in a different city and can’t get there just for a showing. We did that once and had our friend do a video chat with us.
We decided to not host any sort of Buy-Sell-Trade community on our hobby instance for this reason. It’s a small community so a lot of people know usernames of people they know and can trust. It’s very easy for a scammer to use someone’s username and say “I’ll sell you that thing! Send me $150!”.
Honest quetion, what’s a stan account?
Oh that’s cool. I was right, only 9 monthly users.
I have a credit card that gives 6% cash back on grocery stores. Gift Cards are supposed to be excluded from that, but it still works at some stores. I used to buy Amazon gift cards, effectively making Amazon 6% cheaper.
There’s some psychological stuff to consider, though. Did I spend more on Amazon because there was a gift card balance? I like to tell myself no, but I probably did.
