It seems like reading comprehension is not what it used to be.
“Much like” == “very similar too” AKA, “close, but no cigar”
You wouldn’t compare something to the same something, that’s kind of the point of comparisons.

But we did shoot it down…
Ventrillo and Teamspeak as well
I didn’t realize it was possible to host your own backend locally… I thought it was just hosting the webUI locally.
Jumping from one proprietary system to another isn’t really an improvement.
Why so many upvotes for an advertisement?
What is a “feg”?
Some of the alternative web-UIs let you do that. Photon for sure and I think Alexandrite as well.
Well, you don’t have that many brain cells in the areas people are doing that thinking.

I’m fully aware of what the word means, but I’m sick of it being used so often. There are plenty of other words in the English language to describe the situation.
I get that “enshitification” is the hot new buzzword but cold we please give it a rest. Reading this community you start to think that people can’t express that the Internet is not to their liking in any other way.
Then keep it in the politics and news communities, and don’t be surprised when you are kicked. You don’t go protesting at the KKK meeting expecting to change minds just like you don’t try to go to [email protected] expecting to change minds. If you are looking for real discussion then don’t go to a community that is hostile to the discussion you want to have.
If you don’t insert politics into normal conversations and you value relationships more than you value being right (left) then this should not be an issue.
Stay away from the political communities and don’t feel like you need to correct people when they spout out political bullshit.
That’s good news. Hopefully they’ll get let you change your avatar in that new UI because that’s one of the weirdly missing Photon features.
Why bother with a mousepad at all? All it really serves as is an exclusion zone for energy drinks and dirty dishes.
Yeah, I run Photon on base domain because I couldn’t count on lemmy-ui.
Forget the backend! I just want the frontend not to crap itself whenever it can’t fetch the site icon!
I’m assuming that OP is referring to the white (sometimes foam, sometimes shitty microfiber) packing material that is placed between the keyboard and screen for shipping. Since most mice are optical based the tracking surface doesn’t really matter unless you are someone who needs extreme precision so this “keyboard cover” would probably be fine.
Fresh Graphene. In order to get stock Android back you would need to install it back on your phone. A factory reset removes all data, settings, and apps that were put on the phone by the user.
