The definition of the worlds open source seems to me that the source is readable by everyone. If you mean something different like @[email protected] said, then that’s something else.
They count as…gone! Gone to develop what’s been open source until it becomes closed source. As I think it should be, because what you helped to develop with your donation is still there.
Open source means that the source code is…open, that everyone can view and use it, it doesn’t mean that everyone can contribute to it. Or am I wrong?
This shouldn’t apply to Europeans thanks to the GDPR
For example on my laptop if I open Firefox it opens in full screen, if I open a terminal it resizes Firefox to half the screen and opens the terminal in the other half, a third and it splits whichever window I’m focused on vertically etc etc
Interesting!!! I’ll definitely give it a try! Thanks!
Thanks a lot for your precious information!
Thanks for your kind response!
I’ll definitely try using Wine and the Premiere alternatives.
About the virtual screen, I mean…screen, not desktop. I’ve added a screenshot in the OP.
I know that there are tons of Linux distributions, but I don’t have much time to try them. I’ve been using Ubuntu for my servers and I’ve seen that it’s quite nice and user friendly in the desktop version, …but I’ll do some extra search!
Oh, I’m rooted, I didn’t know that.
Well, if you have a look at some examples that @[email protected] posted in a comment here, you can see that’s not impossible and that somebody is already doing it.
Thanks!
Have you ever tried ShareX? How does it compare?
And screenshots! We love screenshots!!! 😁
Yes, you’re right. Are we able to go back? I mean, do they want to go back from being paid to almost nothing? And if I’m not mistaken, professional YouTubers produce a quality of videos that didn’t exist back in the days.
we really need a FOSS decentralized video sharing platform to take hold
I’d love for that to happen, but without being paid by a central company, content creators won’t…create content. Will it work with content creators own sponsors? Mmm…I don’t know
My point is that you can’t compare today’s problem with 20 years ago! 20 years ago the access to the Internet was through the home PC for the amount of time the kid was allowed to use and with people in the house (usually); today the access to the Internet for a kid is 24/7 and everywhere. There is no comparison. Parents should be more present in the kids life? Sure! Parents should block Internet access to porn website at least until a certain age? Yes! But most of them doesn’t even know that ths is possible. Maybe we (society, givernment) should work more here.
Guys, come on, in the '80/early '90 it was almost impossible to have access to porn, maybe some magazine found somewhere. Today a 10 years old can see porn video on a smartphone everytime he wants! You can’t say that it’s the same!
P.s. In my original message I didn’t say that I’m ok with that law, I was asking (to start a kind discussion) what other possibilities there are.
Thanks for the clarification!
