  • Keep your eyes open for opportunities. Sure, you work in insurance, but surely they need ads and signs and such, maybe you can independently put forth a few products in the environment you work in and make a name for yourself serving the needs you find where you find them.

I work in IT now, but I used to be a musician. Some of my music has been used in training videos for companies I’ve worked for, evne though I didn’t get any credit I got paid my normal wages to make music. I learned image editing and creation in gimp and some of my images have been used in multi-million dollar court cases.

Being a jack of all trades is typically looked down on by snooty people who don’t know that the full saying is, “Jack of All Trades, Master of None, Oftentimes better than a Master of One”.

  • Best: None. Weddings are pretty boring. I had fun at mine I guess but I got chewed out afterwards because people kept coming to me and asking me to do things and apparently I was supposed to be glued to my new wifes side the whole time.

Worst: Went to a friends wedding, somehow got mistaken as the groom by the priest, which I cleared up, but then during the ceremony the priest said, “I believe that with the power of Jesus any marriage can work, even between people of different races” while looking directly at me, the only non-white (Lakota) person in the entire room.

  • Being as that god is typically considered to be the Christian God, then the dogmatic principle of, “Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar’s” should come into play, at least in the western world. Their invitation is from the true owner of the home, the state, which supersedes the current occupants authority as, “all nations are created by God”.

However there may be some concept of primacy of house and home that in God’s eyes turns out to be more important than the political societal contract we live under that has an exemption for protection from evil supernatural entities, as otherwise a long-lived vampire could simply manipulate the population to get themselves elected as a ruler and cause the citizens to lose one of their fundamental protections from the denizens of the night.

That being said, most law-abiding homeowners would probably permit the entry based on the existence of the warrant by default, so it’s likely a moot point.

  • It’s a screenshot from the movie They Live.

In it, Roddy Piper has special glasses that allows him to see past these like weird replacement human alien creatures disguises, so in this screenshot he’s wearing the glasses and so you can see a couple of the aliens faces in like blended in amongst the people and originally behind the screenshots or behind the images on the billboards you would see signs that say stuff like “obey” and “reproduce”.

I chose to use the black and white copy even though that wasn’t really perfect because it helped me not have to worry about shading in all of the colors for the images that I pasted in, because I am not a Photoshop expert.

  • My work decided to close for Juneteenth, but then I had to come back on Friday, and I told everyone I was going to request that Friday off so I could have a four-day weekend for the price of one day of PTO, and I forgot to do it, so I had to work a weird bizarroland hellscape Friday where we had just had a day off so we have like a little bit more energy than usual, but then the weekend is also about to hit so everyone wanted to leave, but everyone also wanted to get all of their work done, so for me it was just a fucking nightmare.

  • Why would we assume that you have to be 21 years old or the equivalent to drink alcohol in a medieval fantasy world?

There are still many parts of the modern world that allow 16 year olds to drink.

And even in the medieval time period of Europe, pretty much everyone would drink alcohol because it was cleaner than water, although younger people would tend to drink “small beers” that had very light alcohol.

My assumption would be that in this time frame, if the bartender judged you competent and capable of drinking, they would sell you alcohol.

If they didn’t, they wouldn’t, and the only consequence would be that you’re on your own in dealing with the effects of alcohol on you.
