I tried bathing my cat once and screamed as if she were at a butcher, and banged on the glass/plastic semi-transparent sliding doors in the bathtub. I didn’t wanna get eaten alive so I let her out with barely a rinse in the shower. She now can sense the bathroom and will scream and struggle to get off if I try to carry her in there. I think I now realize the subconscious reason why, even as a leftist, I’m very pro-gun, its that distrust of my parents, and thus distrust of school admin, which then also transferred into the distrust of authority in general.
