it didnt even take that long to look, why lie?
i just got matrix up and running. its a federated ommunications specification. id invite you to mine but im still ironing things out. check out https://www.matrix.org
in my experience, ive had to remind a lot of my IT colleagues to have empathy, and quite often.
also, what may be natural to you isnt necessairly easy for others.
i accidentally deleted instead of edited my coment:
original:
i dont agree. thats not about technology. thats about the people at a tech-related loction not being able to eat. thats the lacroix of tech news if anything.
i think id be fine with even something like this or even this musk news if it wasnt in such high volume from something so indirect to actual technology posts. the frequency of these is so tiring.
i dont agree. thats not about technology. thats about the people at a tech-related loction not being able to eat. thats the lacroix of tech news if anything.
the point hes trying to make is that just because x relies on y, that doesnt make y relevant to the topic of x.
so labor, while needed for tech, doesnt belong in tech. just like if i started posting about food shortages here, i could argue that food is needed for tech, but it does not belong in tech.
the popular answer does not equal the right answer. this is called c/technology. before you spin that elon is in tech so how he picks his nose matters, it doesnt.
lol man all these downvoters. cant yall just make c/xitter or c/SuckItMusk and post your hateboners there?
Reddit did something pretty shitty this year and is the reason many of us are here.
Blizzard Activision if we are counting gaming companies with their sexual harassment controversies which have led to suicide (also the cosby suite), their shitty monetization schemes, and the utter ruination of most of their popular IPs
lol so much for moving on huh? im not buying your bullshit go sell to someone else
lol right…
so… you were calling me ignorant because of info youve gathered from a friend? lol …
yeah, lets not waste anymore of our time here. have a good day.
can you provide a source for alphabet paying for youtubes operating costs? i work for a subsidiary of a different rather large it consulting company (80k+ members) and we very much do and have our own budgeting because we are a profit generating subsidiary
odd that alphabet would pay for youtube’s operating costs since youtube operates at a multi-billion dollar profit.
and i apologize for presuming youre not educated in the industry. it actually came off worse than i meant. just some of your comments just do not align with my experience in the industry.
You should educate yourself on the topic. theres really more to it than “how much storage can fit on an sd card.” operating at the size and scope of youtubes database and userbase really is a challenge and considering how smoothly youtube runs for the most part isnt “pennies” worth of operating cost
Plus, its already known from their earnings reports that youtubes profit mostly comes from ads
yousay free but none of the operations and technology that support the possibility to even receive and globally distribute that content along with the plethora of features are free, nor free to run.
its only group think in that a lot of the group independently think the same thing.
Groupthink is a psychological phenomenon that occurs within a group of people in which the desire for harmony or conformity in the group results in an irrational or dysfunctional decision-making outcome. Cohesiveness, or the desire for cohesiveness, in a group may produce a tendency among its members to agree at all costs. This causes the group to minimize conflict and reach a consensus decision without critical evaluation.
Emphasis mine
That’s sort of the byproduct of an echo chamber and group think. Many of the times its difficult to have a different opinion than the echo chamber
Welcome to Lemmy, where all the deep-frieds live.
My assumption is some steam deck refresh or other handheld-related thing.
The comment line above the code block containing Galileo, sephiroth, etc, says “Jupiter Devices.”. Steam deck code name was “valve-jupiter”
Valve Index 2 is code named “Deckard” I believe.
Not sure of the significance behind the device codename of Galileo, or family of Sephiroth though.
Edit: would be cool if it’s a device for both. A portable PC handheld capable enough for VR.
A counterpoint to it being a steam deck is that APUs haven’t gotten fast enough to justify a new revision already, but maybe if the justification is that valve is confident that the APUs are fast enough at least for a whole different gaming medium (VR), maybe it’s possible?
ive yet to test it myself but it seems to support voice and video
