Oh, I hear you on that one. I use Proton for my email, but I use my own domain, so I had to set up all these security things like DKIM, etc. So that my messages would not be marked as spam in big mail providers. Adding the proper records to the DNS was a bit of a pain, but other than that it went pretty well.
I haven’t had a Google account for over a year and a half now and I stopped primarily using the one I did have in 2019 and would only log into it like once a year.
No, there is no private way to use Facebook on any platform. The use of Facebook itself completely murders all privacy and should never be considered for use.
Oh, sadness
This is exactly what I do. I subscribe to the YouTube channels via RSS in my local RSS reader and have it set to display notifications so that I still see video updates and then use newpipe to open them.
Same here with newpipe
I followed you in 2019 and did the same thing. So it would not affect me very much either.
The SEC should have been using the proper two-factor authentication methods through an app instead of SMS-based. You lose access to your account because of an SMS based two-factor authentication. Simsoop. That’s your own damn fault because you weren’t taking the proper security precautions.
Oh, interesting. Okay. In that case, they are totally misusing the term.
OTP 2FA Codes are one time pads
Well then again, you expect government agencies to be secure? Yeah, not hardly.
Idiot. Why did they not run those searches over the tor network to anonymize themselves? That is quite frankly stupid. And the fact that the SEC was using SMS-based two-factor authentication is also stupid. One time pads or bust motherfuckers.
Yep, me personally, I am on the T-Mobile Connect 5GB plan, which gives me unlimited talk and text with 5GB of data and then no more. But that’s perfectly fine by me since the vast majority of the time I have access to Wi-Fi extremely easily.

Or put “grapheneos” In the search box on the main page
Exactly. I started buying my phones at full price unlocked in 2016 when I switched to a mobile virtual network operator and I’ve never gone back to $1,000 phones because losing $1,000 from your Monero wallet hurts bad.
Good thing I started using Linux in 2012.
You can’t. Technology that can be used for human rights can be used for Nazi content. That’s just the way the world works. You can’t put a back door into it to stop the Nazi content because then the back door will be used by anybody who has access to it and also those who don’t. You cannot back door math. Sorry.
Easy answer. Don’t use platforms. Use protocols. Lemmy doesnt go down, Mastodon doesnt go down, nostr doesnt go down, Monero doesnt go down, Bitcoin does not go down.
Facebook goes down, zoom goes down, AWS goes down.
