Probably two or three times a week, minimum, here.
You guys are cleaning your phones?

Do you have it in a case?
Because if you ever need to take it in to repair, I’m not sure they’ll appreciate having to take your dusty phone out.

It’s not like you could clean the dust inside.
Just by putting your phone in your pocket and walking around, you’re essentially wiping it all around.
You guys are cleaning?
You guys are?
You guys?
You?
?
I do guys
You guys?
Yeah. They’re germ magnets, worse than doorknobs. I have a waterproof phone and just wash it when I wash my hands; before that I used alcohol wipes.
never. never even considered it, actually. it’s in my pocket most of the time I’m not using it and I dont let other people touch it.
never
Do what now?
Maybe once every 5 years when I get a new phone. My current one is about 4 years old. It doesn’t seem particularly dirty.
Why would you clean a new phone??
By pealing off that nice plastic wrap. 😀
Every time I get home and I know I’ve been touching a lot of stuff (i.e. grocery shopping). I just wipe it down with a napkin and rubbing alcohol.

I just run mine through the dishwasher once a month.
Never, unless the screen gets too smudgy. Then I’ll just lick it.
Physically clean it with like a cloth or clean it as in remove pics and apps and stuff?
The former is what I was specifically referencing…
You mean like open the case and clean the vents and stuff?
Never lol
Like… Junk data or the actual device?
I have an app to do the first on it’s own whenever junk data gets over a specific size. I clean the actual phone only when stuff gets under the screen protector.
I wipe mine down every day. I don’t use a case and I work in a hospital full of germs.
Practically every day. I take public transportation so when I get home I’ll use a disinfectant wipe on it to kill any germs. It’s a habit that’s stuck with me since the pandemic and it’s just nice to have a clean phone.
I wipe mine down with isopropyl on a paper towel daily.

It doesn’t damage the screen, but can remove the oleophobic (anti-smudge) coating that most phones come with. It is damaged with use anyway, like a non-stick pan.
What is the best alternative?

It’s okay; I’m only wiping down the case, which has a built-in screen protector. No alcohol is actually touching the screen.

Honestly, once every 3-4 months I take the case out and give it a wipe with the help of isopropyl alcohol. I thought I was dirty, but I’m seeing that I’m one of the cleaner people.
